Empowered Women in Trades hosted an inspiring session on 'Women in Construction' and non-traditional career paths, giving Year 11 students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in these exciting fields.

Following this, a variety of engaging activities featuring a hands-on planter box activity with Laing O'Rourke and electrical challenges with National Electrical Contractors Association took place. Students also discovered the Victorian Tunnelling Centre through Holmesglen Institute, interacted with Brick and Block Careers to better understand construction processes, and gained practical skills with tools through Bunnings Trade.

Through these experiences, students are gaining valuable insights and helping to break down barriers in industries where women are underrepresented.
